Hi! I’m Katie, I am passionate about helping your dog feel and perform at their best

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Hi I am Katie King and I am a certified Canine Remedial Massage therapist. I studied
through Dogs in Motion which is run by Michell Monk, a registered canine physiotherapist.
Michell runs a fantastic rehab clinic over in Melbourne where I did my practical learning. I became certified in 2019, and love working with dogs and their owners to get their dogs moving freely again.

I am passionate about wanting to help your dog feel it’s best. Massage therapy is a non-invasive way to help with conformation issues, assist with injury rehab or just keep your
dog in top condition for doing the things they love.

Massage therapy increases circulation and can reduce inflammation, as well as freeing up muscles to maintain healthy movement.

I am based in Rotorua, but do travel to agility shows throughout the North Island, so if your out of town it always pays to flick me a message to see where I am headed, as I may be coming your way.

SERVICES

      Pre/Post Surgery

Pre-Surgery massage can release tension held in the muscles which helps aid recovery. Massage also assists in lymphatic drainage and increase circulation which helps reduce the healing time required post surgery.

Post surgery massage helps reduce scar tissue that may have built up around the incision site which creates a pull on the healthy muscles which can create confirmation issues and compensation down the track.

      Sports Massage

A sports massage generally focuses on the muscles your dog is using for it’s particular discipline. This massage is normally using slightly more pressure to release tension and strain in the muscles and aid Lymphatic drainage.

      Myofacial Release Massage

Myofascial release therapy works on releasing the facia fibers that sit between the skin and the muscle. These can often tighten creating sore points of tension which can also restrict muscle movement. This is generally a lighter massage with a range of techniques used.

      General Massage Therapy

A general all over body massage can help senior dogs, dogs with arthritis, or even dogs that can carry a bit more stress around than others. Massage is a good way to develop relaxation to remove tension in those tightened muscles.
